What will I be posting here?

Hiya,

So this is my first post here and it seems like a good idea to explain what I will be blogging about here.

On this post I will combining 2 things with are close to each other in the tech world but have yet to cross paths in my life. These 2 things will be coding and User Experience design.

I'm on 2 different levels with these things and will for this reason first start with what I am most experienced with which is UX design.

User Experience Design

As of me writing this I am in the final stages of finishing my bachelor's degree for a study which basically teaches me UX design. For personal reasons I will keep the name to myself for now. Funny thing is I am exactly super close to finishing my bachelor's. So close in fact that I hope to be done in about 3,5 months from now.

Sadly I need to fix my thesis and that is why I will have my 2nd chance in 3,5 months. This also 'caused me to re-evaluate what I know about UX-design and what I supposedly learned here for the last couple of years. The feedback I got during my defence seems to be around the fact that I did not explain certain topics clearly enough and/or missed some things during my project.

With the blog posts about UX design I'd like to take a closer at it and see what it really means in the professional field but also what I understand about it.

How exactly that will take shape I'm not sure about yet but I hope to document it here!

Coding/Programming

This will be a bit different than the UX posts. Basically I have no experience coding and programming. I might know a little HTML, CSS and Python but it is very surface level knowledge. Knowledge anyone could obtain by trying it once or twice.

Blogging about coding/programming seems like a good way to document my thought proces during projects I will be doing. For now these posts will focus on ComputerCraft a mod in Minecraft. With this players can write their own programs and use these within the game. This mod uses the programming language Lua and therefore I will also be programming in it during these posts.

In this mod there are little machines one can make in Minecraft called Turtles. These turtles can with a little programming move around, dig, craft and probably a bunch more stuff.

A basic ComputerCraft turtle

I have been working with these little guys for a little while now and wrote a basic program to do some mining for me so I don't have to but I am not yet satisfied with it. So, I will be using this blog to document what I have done so far but also what I will be doing with them.

Stay tuned!
